F3 is studying graphic novels!

Thanks to Katie Wheeler and other graphic novelists coming in today to help us welcome in our new unit!

Learning about MLK and the Black Lives Matter Movement

Since the beginning of January, F3 has turned our focus to the words of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. We have done a very close reading of the I Have A Dream speech and we have made a plain words version of it.  We got the idea to do that after we read the plain words version of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

Now that we have a better understanding of the words of Dr. King, we are going to make connections between the the Black Lives Matter movement and the Civil Rights Movement in the 1960's.
